The North Pier Lighthouse, built in 1910, stands at the entrance of Duluth’s Ship Canal on Lake Superior. At 43 feet tall, the white steel tower has been a vital guide for ships navigating one of the busiest inland seaports in the U.S. Once operated by a keeper, it is now automated but remains an essential navigational aid. Visitors can access the lighthouse via the Duluth Lakewalk, offering scenic views of the harbor and the iconic Aerial Lift Bridge. The lighthouse is a lasting symbol of Duluth’s rich maritime heritage.
